The Kahamut-An concept
In Hiligaynon (Ilongo) dialect, “kahamut-an” stands for pleasant or graceful. Kahamut-An’s Cottages is a charming place to relax, where the guests are warmly welcome. We propose an “eco responsible” accommodation, that meets the needs of families or travellers in the Philippines at very reasonable prices, whilst respecting the environment with our sustainable approach (local material used for cottage construction, food is made of local products and the use of solar energy for 100% of our electricity needs, limited wastes and water usage).
Breakfast (made of local organic fruits, fish, eggs and rice) is included. Home made meals can be prepared upon request (about 300 pesos per person depending on the number of courses – charged separately).
We also organise local activities for our guests such as visits of the world famous Underground River in Sabang and its neighbourhood, bangka tours in the Ulugan bay and Honda bay, snorkling excursions, treks in the jungle, zipline, caving amongst many other.
At Jenny’s Kahamut-An Cottages, we want to make sure you feel at home.
A word about our project
Kahamut-An is a friendship story between Romain, Vincent and Jenny, a filipino-french project that started in June 2014.
Our goal is to share our love of nature through an eco-tourism approach. Since the mid-90’s, the Ulugan Bay has been a field of study for UNESCO environmentalists experts. Through ecological assessments they have underlined its pristine nature, still mostly untouched. That led to the creation of the nearby Sabang Underground river natural park.
Following the master plan for community based eco-tourism in the Ulugan Bay, issued by UNESCO, we aim to propose a responsible and sustainable approach of tourism, both in respect with nature and the people of Ulugan bay.
